Direction and Purpose of Life: An Analysis

Direction and Purpose of Life: An Analysis

Life is a journey.

In this journey, a person’s success is determined not by how far they have traveled, but by the direction they are headed and the reason behind their travel.

The lines, "It does not matter how far we went; what matters is toward what and for what purpose we went," remind us that life is not merely about speed, but about wise direction.

A Journey Without a Goal is Akin to Failure.

Elders often say that a journey without a destination is a path to failure.

Frequently, we find ourselves running just to keep up with the crowd.

Whether it is because others are achieving in a particular field or out of a sheer desire for material wealth, we often run without knowing our true destination.

No matter how fast a ship sails, if its destination is unknown, it will eventually lose its way and perish in the vast ocean.

Similarly, the heights we have reached or the length of the path we have crossed in life do not alone bring pride.

What is paramount is whether that journey is aligned toward the right goal.

Direction Matters More Than Distance.

In the modern world, we are all chasing something called 'success.

' But what kind of success is it? It is better to walk slowly in the right direction than to run fast in the wrong one.

Rather than regretting after traveling miles on the wrong path, we must define our goals clearly at the very beginning.

When there is clarity about where we are headed, the obstacles we encounter along the way do not deter us.

It is this clarity of purpose that provides a person with self-confidence and mental fortitude.

The Answer to 'Why' Defines Our Life's Goal.

The question "For what did we go?" is of utmost importance.

Every action must be backed by a noble intention.

A race run merely for money or fame will eventually lead to exhaustion and boredom.

However, a journey undertaken for a principle or for the welfare of others brings eternal satisfaction.

For instance, it does not matter how long leaders like Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela fought; what remains etched in history is why they fought.

When we ask ourselves, "Why am I doing this?" before starting any task, the value of that action increases significantly.

To the Youth: Purpose Over Comparison.

Today’s youth often feel distressed by comparing themselves with others.

Thinking, "He has progressed so far, while I am still here," is unnecessary.

The distance you have covered is not the true yardstick of your growth.

Focus only on these: Is the path you chose right?

Is the purpose of your journey noble?

A journey with the right intent, even if it starts slowly, will lead to enduring success.

In short, the quality of the message written in the book of life is more important than the number of its pages.

Every step of our lives should be taken toward a clear goal and with a meaningful reason.

Even if the paths are rugged, if the direction is right, we will surely reach our destination.

Therefore, do not worry about the distance.

Evaluate your purpose and continue your journey.

Peace at the Center of Life

Peace at the Center of Life

When we speak of the basic needs of human life, we often think only of food, clothing, and shelter.

But beyond these, there is another need hidden deep within us.

That need is peace.

Peace is not something that comes only from external circumstances.

It is the truth embedded at the very center of our being, at the foundation of our existence.

It is the truth within us, beside us.
We may call it “being.”

Peace is the true fundamental need of life.

Peace is not merely the absence of noise.

It is the truth of existence.

When we are attentive, when we learn to listen, or when we regain our natural ability to listen, a profound joy arises within us.

That joy cannot be explained.
It is the bliss of being one with everything.

The hidden foundation of love is peace.

Love need not always be spoken aloud.

It flows silently within us like a river.

When we feel that flow, we realize we are one with the world, with nature, and with humanity.

In today’s world, we are more engaged in speaking and expressing.

But listening has become a forgotten art.

True listening opens the door to inner peace.

The ability to hear not just words but the feelings behind them, the ability to hear nature’s sounds the song of birds, the music of the wind, the rhythm of rain—the ability to hear the voice of our own heart, all these nurture peace within us.

When peace is deeply rooted in us, it blossoms as joy.

This joy does not come from external causes.

It is the natural state of our inner being.

The happiness that comes from wealth, social recognition, or power is temporary.

But the joy that arises from peace is lasting.

It cannot be explained, because it is an experience beyond words.

It is the bliss of being one with everything.

When we speak of life’s needs, we think only of physical needs.

But in truth, peace is the most essential need of life.

Without peace, food loses its taste.
Without peace, sleep is disturbed.

Without peace, relationships become complicated.

With peace, even simple food brings delight.

With peace, ordinary relationships overflow with love.

With peace, small acts blossom into joy.

Peace does not grow only in solitude.
When it joins with grace, it enriches our lives.

Grace is compassion for others, goodness within us, and harmony with the world.

When grace is within us, peace shines forth.

When peace shines forth, grace spreads to others.

Thus, grace and peace support one another, making life complete.

We must all grow in grace and peace, never neglecting the peace imprinted at the center of our being.

That peace will never deceive us.

It is the true foundation of life.

Life’s needs are not just food, clothing, and shelter.

Peace is the deepest need of life.

It is the truth embedded within us.

When we realize it, learn to listen, and live upon the foundation of love, we will be immersed in indescribable joy.

Peace, grace, and love unite at the center of life, guiding humanity toward a complete existence.

To realize and live this truth is the greatest achievement of life.

The Virtue of Simplicity

The Virtue of Simplicity

Simplicity is an indispensable quality for human beings.

It is akin to divinity, and its birthplace is love.

When we give love the foremost place in our hearts, simplicity naturally dwells there.

Many people mistakenly think that living simply is a sign of inferiority.

But simplicity never makes anyone lesser—it only elevates the spirit.

On the banks of the Ganga, Guha the boatman became the dear friend of Lord Rama.

When Rama was living in the forest, Guha came to see him.

Since it was customary not to visit someone empty-handed, Guha lovingly brought honey and fish to offer Rama.

The great sages waiting to meet Rama frowned at the sight of a boatman bringing fish.

But Rama, smiling gently, accepted Guha’s gift with love, saying that anything offered with true affection is sacred.

The value of love always surpasses the value of material things.

Even a small smile can light up another’s heart.

Simplicity is the expression of love.

It is measured not by the quantity of possessions but by the depth of feeling.

Some may wonder if I am highlighting the Ramayana.

I mention it only to show how much importance love was given in our epics.

Love is not determined by who gives or who receives.

True love is acting for another’s good without expecting any return.

From this foundation of love arises simplicity.

Simplicity is a mirror that reflects the purity of the heart, stripping away external show. It is a bridge that connects us to ourselves and a chain that links us to others.

A person who lives simply spreads peace and equality.

These should be the guiding principles of our younger generation.

The future will surely be more equal.

Winning a thousand battles on the battlefield is not as great as conquering oneself within.

That victory can never be taken away.

Just as smoke hides pure fire, or dust clouds a mirror’s reflection, selfishness veils the true moral light within us.

If we learn to gently remove that veil through experience, we can truly know ourselves.

Knowledge is not confined to books—it shines through experience.

When we live simply, that light guides us. Removing selfishness reveals our true humanity.

Our real friends and enemies are none other than ourselves.

Our wealth should be measured not by possessions but by virtues.

Life never hurts us; it is the obstacles in our minds that create pain.

Humility is the clarity that comes from knowing both our abilities and their limits.

Do I say all this because I have attained it? No—I am learning alongside you.

I share only the sounds that arise when my feelings are struck against the stone of truth during my inner refinement.

If you live differently than I did in my youth, then the new world envisioned by our revolutionary poet Bharati will blossom among us.

Our prayers should be for a vision that sees only the good in everything, a heart that forgives even those who wrong us, a mind that forgets past hurts, and a spirit that never loses hope.

Forgiveness is not weakness—it is the pinnacle of strength.

When we forgive those who hurt us, the burden within us is lifted.

That burden-free heart is the true form of simplicity.

If we cultivate such a mindset, everything around us will turn to good, and our lives will benefit others.

Dear hearts,

Life is not a business of counting gains and losses.

It sweetens when it comes, and it turns bitter when it goes—that is reality. Few escape this truth.

As poet Kannadasan said: birth is income, death is expenditure.

Life is the trade that happens between these two.

You may think I contradict myself—calling life not a business, yet also a business.

But I only mean to distinguish between two kinds of business.

Life is not a business measured by money.

Joy and sorrow are both forms of income when they arrive, and expenditure when they depart.

The mind rejoices at joy’s arrival and grieves at sorrow’s arrival; yet when joy departs, it grieves, and when sorrow departs, it rejoices.

In truth, these are but different melodies of the heart, all forming one great song.

Our skill lies in recognizing and experiencing them.

Worship nature as God, and live your life victoriously.

For none of us is lesser than another—we are all children of the Divine.

You can do it.

With love,

Awakening and Renewal: Guiding Truths for Everyday Life

Human life is a continuous journey.
In that journey, the experiences, thoughts, and emotions we encounter transform us.

“Awakening is not about knowledge. It is about a hunger for truth that refuses to live in illusion.”

This idea, along with the notion that “we quietly outgrow our old selves,” reveals profound truths about inner human growth.

Understanding how these ideas help ordinary people in daily life becomes a guide to living meaningfully.

The hunger for truth beyond knowledge
Awakening is not about book learning or surface-level awareness.

It is a deep, inner thirst for truth.

In everyday life, we get caught in many illusions.

Societal expectations, financial pressures, fame, status, wealth.
All of these are temporary.

But awakening is a mindset that seeks truth beyond these illusions.

For example, even if an ordinary person is overwhelmed by work,
If they begin to ask, “What is the true purpose of my life?”

That marks the beginning of awakening.

This awakening frees them from false desires and leads them toward inner peace.

“We quietly outgrow our old selves”
This idea speaks to human growth.

The mistakes we made in the past, the decisions we took.

All were based on the understanding we had at the time.

But today, we know more.

So we can let go of old patterns and choose a new path.

In daily life, this is crucial.
Even if someone was trapped in unhealthy habits in the past,
Today, they can change.

The phrase “We can forget, we can choose differently, we can begin again”
Reminds us that a fresh start is always possible.

These two ideas offer immense value in daily life.

First, instead of suffering over past mistakes.

We can treat them as experiences and move forward.

Accepting our mistakes frees us from mental stress  .

And gives us courage for new efforts.

Second, making small changes in daily life is the foundation of growth.

Healthy food, honest relationships, self-reflection.

These lead us toward inner peace.

All of these are practical expressions of the idea “We can choose differently.”

Cultivating the hunger for truth brings clarity to everyday decisions.

Whether in work, family, or society
If our choices are rooted in truth, life becomes simpler and more peaceful.

A mindset that seeks truth frees us from illusion
And leads us to genuine happiness.

Even when we fail, it’s important not to see it as the end.

But as the beginning of a new attempt.

The idea “We can begin again” reminds us
That a fresh start is always possible.

This allows life to move forward with growth and meaning.

An awakened person nurtures true love and understanding in the family.

A person who embraces change lets go of old conflicts and mistakes
And builds new relationships.

This brings peace to the home and strength to social bonds.

Awakening is not a measure of knowledge; it is a hunger for truth.
Change is the courage to forget the past and choose a new path.

These two ideas are powerful guides for ordinary people in daily life.

They free us from illusion and lead us toward truth.

They release us from past errors and push us toward new beginnings.

Life is not about getting everything right the first time.

It is about the courage to keep changing and moving toward truth.

When we understand this, every person’s daily life becomes meaningful, peaceful, and full of growth.

"Sculptors of Time: A Call to the Young Generation"

Time flows like a river, never waiting for anyone.

In that flow, there are those who stand anxiously on the shore, fearing when the flood might rise.

And there are those who move forward launching boats, catching fish, drawing water using the river to meet their needs.

Our ability to harness time for progress depends entirely on our own talents.

Just as the sun’s heat melts butter and hardens clay, time’s impact varies depending on our nature.

Like butter and clay responding differently to the same sunlight, let us shape time to suit our strengths and move forward.

And as we progress, let us extend a helping hand to those we can support,
Finding joy in their growth as well.

Life keeps flowing.

Our lives are like hands reaching from the shore to touch the passing stream.

The water that has touched our hands and moved on is the past.

The water approaching to touch our hands is the future.

If we keep yearning for the water that has passed, we may miss the chance to build something with the water that is yet to come.

In life, we must pass through many who carry negative thoughts.

Turning their negativity into positivity is the challenge we must face.

Like the frogs in a large pot trying to escape, most slip and lose hope.

But one frog keeps trying and succeeds.
The others shout, “You can’t do it!”

Yet the victorious frog turns their shouting into motivation.

In that sense, didn’t the negative frogs actually encourage the successful one?

If you always stay positive, negative thoughts cannot affect you.

This is the lesson we learn from the frogs.

Believe this one truth,
If you sow positive thoughts in your heart, you will reap positive outcomes.

In the end, you can win any competition.
You can do it.

My dear young generation!

Life is meant to be lived.

Observe time and carve it to suit your growth.

By becoming such sculptors, you can become the backbone of the society you live in.

Through that transformation,
You can build a peaceful, just, and understanding society.

I believe in your ability to do it.

Returning to the Root: Lao Tzu’s Wisdom for Everyday Life”

Lao Tzu’s words, “Things flourish and grow, then each returns to its root,” express both the cycle of nature and the foundation of human life.

Growth, decline, peace, stability, and wisdom are all parts of one continuous path.

This idea is not confined to monastic spiritual experience alone. Rather, it serves as guidance for sustaining dharma, happiness, and balance in our everyday lives.

Just as a tree grows, spreads its branches, and ultimately draws nourishment from its roots, human life too must return to its fundamental values.

Peace means withdrawing from external disturbances and attaining inner calm.

That peace reveals the true meaning of life.

Returning to life creates stability.

Recognizing stability forms the basis for gaining wisdom.

In this way, the cycle of nature unites with the cycle of human existence.

Many believe wisdom is a lofty state attained only by monks in renunciation.

But Lao Tzu emphasizes that wisdom is simply living life in the right way.

In monastic life, clarity is sought through meditation, austerity, and detachment.

In worldly life, true wisdom lies in living with family, fulfilling social responsibilities, practicing dharma, and experiencing joy.

The goal in both paths is the same, inner peace and stability.

Yet the path of righteous living is accessible to everyone.

Wisdom is not mere philosophical thought.

It is a guide for practical living.

Dharma means following justice, compassion, and responsibility.

Happiness means experiencing joy in life’s small moments.

Balance means handling desires, duties, and relationships with harmony.

All these are practical forms of “returning to the root.”

In today’s fast-paced world, people chase external success while forgetting inner peace.

Lao Tzu’s teaching reminds us of the fundamental truth of returning to the source.

In society, it is essential to nurture unity, love, and compassion.

In family, it is important to honor relationships and share joy.

In personal life, self-reflection and maintaining mental peace are necessary.

Together, these help us realize the wholeness of human existence.

Lao Tzu’s idea of “returning to the root” is not wisdom attained only in renunciation.

It is guidance for sustaining dharma, happiness, and balance in our daily lives.

Wisdom is living rightly, with righteousness, and with joy.

The Subtle Art of Life and the Strength of the Soul

The Subtle Art of Life and the Strength of the Soul

We always think of the good, we do the good, and we walk the path of life without betraying our conscience.

Yet, trials and tribulations keep coming at us in succession.

The heart aches; the mind feels dejected.

" What kind of life is this? Why is this happening?" one might wonder, feeling tempted to just drift along aimlessly and give up on principles.

In truth, it is only when a sculptor chips away the unnecessary parts of a stone that the divine statue hidden within is revealed.

Similarly, nature carves us during our times of trial.

The hardships that come to those who walk the path of righteousness are not meant to destroy them, but rather to proclaim their inner strength to the world.

Just as the brilliance of the stars is visible only when surrounded by darkness, the light of a person's character shines brightest during challenging times.

Therefore, when trials come, instead of asking "Why me?", it is better to think, "What is this preparing me for?"
Indeed, everything I have mentioned above are events that have occurred within my own life.

But it is in such situations that we must tighten our grip on the reins.

Our eyes must look straight ahead toward the path we must travel; we must remind ourselves of our goals and ideals over and over again.

To live as a true human being, without betraying one's conscience, is no easy task.

The decisions made by those around us and the events connected to them often affect us directly.

Even if we are right, the consequences arising from others' ignorance or selfishness can fall as a heavy burden upon our shoulders.

The echo of that impact can weaken our spirits.

But if we march forward without letting our mental fortitude waver, there is no doubt that, in the course of time, the victory of our determination will become a healing balm for our mental distress.

Even if waves clash aggressively on the surface of the ocean, its depths always remain calm.

We must cultivate that same deep silence within ourselves.

I have wallowed in the lowest depths of life, and I have swam in the absolute peaks of joy.

But if we can bring peace to the mind, these pleasures and pains will not cause any turbulence.

The mind will indeed grieve at times.
however, that grief becomes bearable when the mind seeks and finds the right explanations for it.

Violence is never a solution to any problem in life.

If "an eye for an eye" were the ultimate decision, this world would have turned blind long ago.

Birth and death are the laws of life.

Joy and sorrow are its flavors.

Human life is a blend of these.

Even if we feel we have understood the subtleties of this life, it always brings disappointment if our expectations are not met.

It is human nature to expect a seed we sowed to become a tree immediately, but the law of the universe is to wait until the time and environment are ripe.

Breaking free from the bitterness of that disappointment seems like an impossible task.

Yet, we must cross it and continue to lead our lives.

Just as expecting is a part of our life, disappointments will come.

Developing the mental maturity to face them is the only way to lead a satisfactory life.

An open-minded approach to everything is essential.

Whether we are about to start a task or meet someone, we should not approach it with a sense of suspicion.

It is best to operate on the foundation of trust without drowning in it standing on the middle ground between trust and doubt.

This is called balance.

Excessive trust leads to betrayal excessive doubt shatters relationships.

Navigating between these two with mindfulness is the trait of a wise person.

A life without wounds is granted to no one, but life becomes meaningful when we don't let those wounds turn into scars, but rather into lessons we have learned.

May this day be a pleasant one for everyone.

To the younger generation!

Tomorrow is in your hands.

Do not forget that the talent to make it better for everyone lies within you.

Act with love as your foundation.

You will become the sculptors who carve a wonderful future that makes everyone proud.

You can do it.

With Love,
Sakthi Sakthasan

Life is Beautiful

Life is Beautiful

The idea that life is beautiful is deeply woven into our everyday experiences.

Every day we face challenges, failures, and joys each revealing different shades of life.

The concept of “second chances” expresses a fundamental truth of human existence.

We may make mistakes, encounter failures, but life always offers us new opportunities.

Sunrise is not just a natural event.
It gives our minds a fresh beginning.

No matter how yesterday was, today opens before us like a new page.
That page is empty.

On it, our actions, our thoughts, our compassion must be written.

This is what reveals the beauty of life.

Even taking a deep breath is a chance.
It gives rest to both body and mind.

In stressful situations, a deep breath brings us peace.

This too is one of life’s small but significant second chances.

Moments when strangers become friends are among the most beautiful dimensions of life.

When we meet unknown people, they may create new meaning in our lives.

A simple meeting, a smile, a conversation these can form new relationships.

This is the social dimension of life’s second chances.

No matter how yesterday was, today stands before us like a blank page.

What we write on it determines the path of our lives.

If we write kindness, goodness, and love, the page becomes beautiful.

If we write anger, hatred, and sorrow, the page becomes heavy.

This is the essential truth that reveals life’s beauty.

We can clearly see how these ideas are embedded in daily life.

A student may fail an exam, but has the chance to succeed in the next one.

A worker may lose a job, but a new opportunity awaits.

A family may face hardships, but the next day begins with fresh hope.

Thus, life always gives us second chances.

If we use them, life becomes beautiful.

If we ignore them, life feels burdensome.

Therefore, we must treat each day as a new page, and write good deeds upon it.

The idea that life is beautiful is deeply embedded in our daily experiences.

Sunrise, deep breaths, moments when strangers become friends all reveal life’s second chances.

No matter how yesterday was, today stands before us as a new page.

If we write goodness upon it, life becomes beautiful.

This is the true reflection of life.

Dawn will break.

Dawn will break.

Enter today with patience, without scattering or rushing, and the days to come will also dawn beautifully.

Life is truly strange. We meet countless kinds of people, and each encounter brings us different feelings and different relationships.

All of these are necessary for us.

Life does not unfold the same way for everyone. Feelings arise according to each person’s circumstances.

Based on those feelings, the relationships we form at that time also take shape.

On the path of human life, every step we take and every person we meet plants a new experience within us.

Some bring us joy, others bring trials.

But it is those trials that make us strong.

If we learn to hold on to the sweet memories that give us fragrance like a flower, and forget the bitterness of thorns, life becomes a pleasant journey.

When painful memories arise, if we can speak words of comfort to ourselves, forget the harsh words thrown at us by others or by ourselves, and learn to forgive those who hurt us, life will no longer feel like a burden but like the soothing shade of a banyan tree.

Is this possible?

No, it is very difficult.

But if we try to live with love as the central principle, many wounds will naturally find healing.

Love is the foundation of human life.

Where there is love, forgiveness comes naturally.

Where there is forgiveness, the mind becomes pure.

Where the mind is pure, life is not a burden but a joy.

A life centered on love gives us the strength to face trials, no matter how many come our way.

The power of love acts as medicine to forget wounds and as shade to bring peace to the mind.

Let us ignore the scratches of thorns and cherish the touch of flowers.

In many situations, we have acted for the good of others, placing their welfare above our own.

Yet often, those very people fail to understand our intentions.

I am one who has worn the cloak of such experiences.

The good we do may not be recognized immediately.

But it is never wasted.

Nature, time, and circumstance will one day return our goodness to us.

Doing good is like planting a seed.

It may not sprout right away, but at the right time it will surely bloom and bring us joy.

Therefore, even if recognition does not come, continuing to do good is true success.

At the right time, with the right measure, nature itself rewards the pure-hearted deeds we perform.

I am one who has realized this through experience.

Those who created us may not be us, but what has shaped us into who we are today are our noble qualities.

We need not change our lofty values or pure intentions for the sake of others.

Purity of heart, noble character, and good intentions are what make us truly human.

Whether others praise us or not, our qualities elevate us.

The true worth of life lies in living for others and thinking of their welfare.

Therefore, without altering our values, without weakening our intentions, continuing on our path is the right way for us.

I have full faith that you are a noble younger generation who will live with social progress and righteousness in mind.

You can become children whom your parents will be proud of.

With love,
Sakthi Sakthithasan

Life is like a painting we create each day.

Life is like a painting we create each day.

Some colors may fade, some lines may be crooked.

Yet, when seen as a whole, it remains a magnificent work of art.

"Even if yesterday was difficult, begin today with calmness"  this points to the strength of our mind and the most important transformation we must embrace in life.

Starting today while carrying the bitterness or failures of yesterday is like running a race with a heavy burden on your back.

Never allow the pains of the past to disturb the peace of your present.

Yesterday is a book of experiences.

If we keep it open and dwell in regret, the golden pages meant to be written today will remain blank.

The first hour of the morning is a powerful time that determines the course of the entire day.

A morning filled with hurry, anxiety, and endless scrolling creates a subtle pressure in our subconscious.

Instead, sitting quietly for a few minutes after waking observing your breath or simply being present calms the nervous system and opens the way for clear thinking.

It is more important to ask not “What will I achieve today?” but “How calmly will I live today?”

Beginning a day with serenity is like wearing a shield of mental strength to face the challenges ahead.

This calmness brings clarity to your decisions and precision to your actions.

No one’s life in this world is one hundred percent free of flaws.

There is no journey without obstacles, no human life without challenges.

Waiting for everything to be perfect before being happy is like waiting for the waves of the ocean to stop before bathing.

Instead of yearning for what we lack or what we have lost, wisdom lies in noticing the small blessings we already have.

The air we breathe, the relationships that show us love, the ability to think — all are gifts.

When we realize that life is not a battle but a wonderful opportunity given to us, our perspective changes profoundly.

Gratitude is not just a word; it is a noble state of mind.

In a heart filled with gratitude, there is no room for fear or negativity.

Make it a habit to sincerely thank life each day  for the small blessings you receive and for the people who help you.

This trains your mind to seek the positive.

Gratitude is like a magic wand that turns what we have into enough.

It reduces greed and brings deep contentment.

True happiness arrives only when we are satisfied with what we already possess.

Beautifying life is not found only in great achievements, but in the calmness we bring to everyday actions.

Doing each task with full attention and love, without haste, reduces stress.

Never compare yourself with others.

Every flower blooms in its own time.

If today you have become a little more patient, a little better than yesterday, that itself is true success.

Throw away the bitterness of yesterday, accept today’s dawn as a gift, and walk forward with serenity and gratitude as your two eyes.

Then every moment of your life will become meaningful.

The Flow of Emotions and the Power of Love

The Flow of Emotions and the Power of Love

Joy, sorrow, anger, affection, love our inner being experiences many emotions.

At times, we understand the reasons behind these surges.

But often, we are swept into emotions we cannot explain.

Recognizing that we ourselves are the owners of this mind that is struck by all these emotions, when we approach them on a single philosophical plane, the mind finds a certain peace.

Yet, to reach this approach, we need faith in a power beyond ourselves.

When we place trust in such a power, the journey becomes easier.

This need not be religious.

It can be a universal force for all.

If we nurture love upon the foundation of this faith, understanding the misfortunes of another life becomes easier.

When we realize that the movement of this universe is governed by a supreme order, our personal egos dissolve.
When we understand that every person we meet and every challenge we face is part of that vast expanse, hatred has no place.

Just as a drop of water becomes the ocean when it joins it, when we surrender our small emotions to that great power of love, even sorrows are purified.

This understanding plants deep tranquility within us.

Love is precious.

Sometimes, because it is freely given, it is treated as worthless.

Both giving love and being deceived, and receiving love only to be betrayed, are painful experiences.

Through the lessons taught by time, we all face countless painful events.

Some emerge as tears that cannot be restrained.

Others appear as smiles that rise above healed wounds with dried tears.

We must journey through life past many hearts that speak lovingly but act falsely.

Instead of worrying that no one is there for us, it is greater joy to realize that in true love we are not a burden to anyone.

True love does not arise from expectations.

It is like rain that pours without seeking reward.

Rather than chasing false relationships like a deer running after mirages, we must discover the spring of love within ourselves.

Even if the love we give is not valued by others, when we accept that being loving is our nature, disappointments cannot touch us.

A heart that does not expect returns is the greatest treasure in the world.

What does one find standing on the shore of the ocean?

Only shells.

It is the one who dives deep who finds pearls.

So too with love those who seek only on the surface are trapped in false affections.

Only those who plunge into its depths become owners of pearl-like, priceless love.

If we scrutinize ourselves, we find a thousand contradictions.

If we measure ourselves, we find floods of emotions.

But if we place ourselves in another’s position, tomorrow’s world will surely walk a better path.

Let us be jasmines spreading fragrance in the garden of society.

Let us be raindrops moistening the cracks of parched lands.

Dear young society!

You are the citizens of a sweet world.

Believe that the power to protect the peace of the world lies in your hands.

With the tool of thought, create a pure society.

All noble hearts will walk behind you.

The seed of change lies in your heart.

In this age of technological and scientific growth, only if humanity grows alongside will that growth be complete.

A small smile, a kind word, a helping hand to one in distress these are the foundations of a new world.

Use your knowledge not as a weapon but as an instrument of embrace.

The love you show will become the greatest inheritance you leave for future generations.

Do not confuse love with servitude.

With clear wisdom, do not discard true love.

You are people of clear thought, rich in humanity, with a global vision.

You can create a prosperous future for the world.

Each of you is a pillar of tomorrow’s society.

If even one of you is missing, that society will weaken.

I have faith that you can achieve this.

With love,

The Inner Radiance: Conquering External Factors to Discover the Self

The Inner Radiance: Conquering External Factors to Discover the Self

In this modern world, we are caught in a strange race.

Rather than defining our own value, we increasingly prefer to let society, the market, and the eyes of others dictate it.

A luxury car, a prestigious job title, or a few hundred 'likes' on social media seem to determine our happiness.

But these are all 'external factors.' They are like clouds fleeting and transient by nature.

The true essence of this journey is to look past these clouds and identify the steady sun within us.our true self.

Most of us identify ourselves through our work or positions.

Saying "I am a doctor" or "I am a manager" brings a sense of pride.

There is nothing wrong with that, however, why does our 'self-worth' plummet when that position is lost or when a setback occurs at work?

It is because we loved our 'chair' more than ourselves.

The house we live in and the awards we have won are merely decorations, they are not our soul.

Seeking the answer to the question "Who am I?" beyond these possessions and achievements is the path to true liberation.

What do we consider failure?

A failed attempt is not a failure.

True failure is punishing ourselves by thinking, "I am unworthy," simply because an attempt did not succeed.

The external world celebrates success with fanfare and looks down upon failure with scorn.

If we hand over the key to our mind to these external judgments, our happiness will always be in someone else's hands.

When we develop the maturity to realize that "what we perceive as failures are actually just lessons," an unshakable mental strength is born within us.

The single sentence, "What will others think?" has killed billions of dreams in this world.

When we begin to live for the approval of others, we lose our individuality.

The praise of others becomes like an addictive drug, when it is absent, we fall into depression.

But the truth is, the opinions of others depend on their state of mind, not our reality.

When we begin to love ourselves, the criticisms of others will sound like nothing more than background noise.

Do you know when we lose our power?

It is when we allow a small thing a traffic jam, a co-worker’s bitter remark, or a financial loss to ruin our entire day.

We mortgage the control of our emotions to external circumstances.

We reclaim our power the moment we resolve that "no external factor can disturb my peace of mind without my permission."

This is the mindset of a warrior,a mindset that continues the journey toward the goal despite the wounds.

Valuing our deep, authentic self is the ultimate achievement of life.

When you sit in a quiet room, stripped of luxuries, awards, and fame, the quality of your life is measured by how happy you are with yourself.

Realizing that external factors are all part of a drama, let us seek the inner radiance.

The promise we make to ourselves
"I will love myself;
I will value myself"
is what transforms us into a complete human being.

Awareness: The Key to Success for the Younger Generation

Awareness: The Key to Success for the Younger Generation

The modern world is moving at an incredible pace.

Between rapid technological growth, the influence of social media, and intense competition in education and career, today’s youth live in a constant state of anxiety.

In such an environment, "Mindfulness" (Living in the Present) is no longer just a philosophy it has become a life necessity.

Let’s explore how realizing who we truly are and remaining fully conscious in the present moment can shape a young person's life.

The biggest challenges for today's youth are stress and worry about the future.

Most students waste their energy either regretting past mistakes or fearing a future that hasn't arrived yet.

When we connect with the power of "Now," unnecessary worries begin to fade.

When performing a task, focusing entirely on the action itself rather than the outcome brings peace to the mind.

For example, if a student focuses solely on the "moment" of reading their lesson rather than the fear of failing the exam their learning becomes deeper.

This awareness reduces panic and paves the way for clear thinking.

In the age of smartphones and social media, distractions are everywhere. A mind can wander within minutes of starting a task.

A young person practicing mindfulness develops the ability to notice immediately when their mind drifts.

This habit of Self-awareness helps re-center one's focus.

Whether in academics, sports, or the arts, it enables Peak Performance.

When we are rooted in the "Now," every small action we take becomes precise and high in quality.

Youth often determine their self-worth by comparing themselves to others.

Looking at the curated, "fake" images others post on social media, they fall into the confusion of "Who am I?"

However, when connected to the power of awareness, one begins to listen to their intuition.

Awareness acts like a mirror; it shows us who we truly are.

When a young person observes their strengths, weaknesses, likes, and dislikes with awareness, the need to live for others' validation disappears.

This grants them Self-confidence and a clear life goal.

The search for "Who am I?" is not found externally it is only possible through inner awareness.

Friendships and romantic relationships play a vital role in a young person’s life.

Often, conflicts arise because we fail to truly listen to one another.

When we speak to someone, our body might be there, but our mind is often busy rehearsing a reply or thinking of something else.

Communicating with awareness gives the other person full respect in that moment, creating a deep bond.

Furthermore, when emotions like anger or jealousy arise, a mindful person can act with composure instead of reacting impulsively.

This avoids unnecessary conflict and fosters mature relationships.

Creativity is always born from a calm, aware state of mind.

New ideas cannot emerge when the mind is buried in the trash of the past or the dreams of the future.

When you immerse yourself fully in the "Now," your mind aligns with the energy of the universe.

Living in the present does not mean being lazy.

On the contrary, it means performing every action with greater awareness and higher energy.

When you act by realizing who you are in this moment, life ceases to be a struggle and transforms into a beautiful celebration.

I am sharing these insights based on my own experiences of having traveled through many wrong paths before finding clarity.

My sole purpose is to pass on what I have learned not just through intellect, but through lived experience to the next generation.

My dear youth! You can do it.

With Love,
Sakthi Saktithasan

The Journey of Life: Directions or a Compass?

The Journey of Life: Directions or a Compass?

Life is like an infinite ocean.

Every human being traveling through it requires a specific goal and a path to reach that destination.

When we are confused or stand at a crossroads without a sense of direction, we seek out wise and experienced individuals.

The assistance provided by such wise people is extraordinary.

The proverb, "Wise people don’t hand you directions; they hand you a compass," reveals a deep secret of human progress. Its purpose is to transform an individual into an independent thinker rather than making them dependent on others.

Directions are like a map to reach a specific location.

They issue precise commands: "Turn left, walk a hundred feet straight, then go right."

While this may sound easy and feel safe at the beginning, a great weakness lies hidden within.

If there is a sudden change in your journey, an unexpected obstacle, or if you reach a new place where the old map doesn't work, those directions become completely useless.

Only those with limited wisdom or those who wish to dominate you will offer a series of rigid commands like "Do this" and "Don't do that." This prevents a person from thinking and reduces them to a mere machine.

In stark contrast, a Compass is a tool that only shows you the right direction.

It does not tell you which path to walk or which stones to step over.

You may encounter hills and valleys or face dense forests, but if the compass is in your hand, you will never lose your way.

Wise people never impose solutions on you.

Instead, they provide the "Values" and "Principles" necessary to make the right decisions.

Those very qualities become the compass of your life.

Once you learn to use this compass, you gain the power to forge your own path in any circumstance.

There is a noble purpose behind why wise people provide a compass instead of directions.

Those who follow directions are destined to live forever in the shadows of others.

However, those who use a compass create their own path.

This ignites human creativity.

Life is never a straight line.

When unexpected turns occur, old directions will not help.

In those critical moments, only our principles acting as our compass will keep us on the right track.

This transforms a person into a self-reliant individual and allows self-confidence to spring forth.

Furthermore, this trait makes a person deeply responsible.

When someone gives you directions and you fail, you can easily blame that person.

But when the compass is in your hand, you take full responsibility for your decisions.

This sense of accountability is what transforms an ordinary person into a mature personality.

A great teacher does not ask a student to memorize answers but instills the curiosity to search and the method of learning.

A great leader does not micromanage every small task but ensures the employees understand the organization's vision.

These are all based on the "Philosophy of the Compass."

Life is not about walking blindly along the path shown by others.

it is about creating a new path toward our destination.

The compass that wise people give us is nothing other than our own sharp intellect and a pure conscience.

Instead of asking others, "What should I do?", learn to ask, "In which direction should I travel?"

A person with a compass in hand will never be lost in any corner of the world.

The success they achieve will be a unique victory born of their own hard work.

Where Is the True Home? — Here and Now

Where Is the True Home? — Here and Now

The greatest search in human life is contained in the word “home.”

Home is not merely a building with walls, a roof, and rooms.
It is the peace of our mind, the dwelling of our heart, the resting place of our soul.

As Thich Nhat Hanh said: “Our true home is here and now.”
This sentence reveals the fundamental truth of our lives.

A Home Beyond Time, Place, Nation, and Race
Ordinarily, when we say “home,” we mean a specific location—
our birthplace, our family, our country.

But the true home is not confined by these.
It stands beyond the boundaries of time, the distances of place, and the divisions of nation and race.

Wherever we are, in whatever situation, if peace resides within us, that is home.

Not Imagination, but Living Reality
The statement “True home is not a mere idea” is crucial.

Many people seek peace in the future—
after retirement, after finishing work, after family responsibilities lessen.

But that peace never arrives,
because it is not in the future—it is here, now.

In every moment, if we feel our breath and steady our mind, that moment itself becomes home.

Touching the Present Moment
Most of our life is spent in memories of the past or worries about the future.

But the true home is “here and now.”

To feel the air we breathe,
to notice the person beside us,
to enjoy the sounds, scents, and beauty of nature—
these are ways of touching the present moment.

The Shape of a Needed Life
If we practice this truth in daily living, many changes occur:

- Peace: The mind no longer wanders in past or future, but rests in the present.
- Love: We begin to truly care for those near us.
- Gratitude: We find joy even in small things.
- Freedom: We experience inner freedom, unbound by external identities of nation, race, or social status.

The true home is not somewhere far away.
It is within us—
in our breath, in our awareness.

When we live each moment fully, we are at home.

That home transcends time, place, nation, and race.
It is not imagination—it is the truth of our life.

The Necessity of a Full Stop in Life — A Deep Reflection.

“If a full stop is not placed where needed, both words and life lose their meaning.”

This idea is a profound philosophy that echoes in every relationship, decision, change, and responsibility in our lives.

The Necessity of a Full Stop in Life — A Deep Reflection.

Life is a continuous flow.

In that flow, countless experiences, people, emotions, successes, failures, joys, and sorrows come and go around us.

In this journey, knowing when to stop, when to continue, when to let go, and when to hold on is true human maturity.

Just as a sentence without a full stop becomes endless confusion, life too becomes a meaningless cycle when we fail to make decisions at the right moments.

The ability to decide depends on one’s maturity.

When a child learns to speak, it learns to complete sentences.

Likewise, when a person learns to live, they must learn to conclude.

Many people make mistakes in life.
Making mistakes is human nature.

But not knowing when to stop the mistake is the real problem.

When a relationship hurts us, a job exhausts us, or a habit destroys us, continuing it robs life of meaning.

Placing a full stop where necessary becomes a new beginning that recreates us.

A Full Stop in Words is the power of silence.

Words can elevate or diminish a person.

A word spoken in anger can wound for a lifetime.

Likewise, choosing not to speak when necessary  placing a full stop can prevent many problems.

Sometimes silence is the greatest answer.

Speaking where one must is intelligence.

Remaining silent where one must not speak is wisdom.

Placing a full stop in words develops the ability to control our emotions.

A Full Stop in Relationships is the voice of self-respect.

Every relationship is a lesson in life.

Some relationships help us grow.
Some break us.

Continuing relationships that do not respect us, understand us, or that cause pain slowly destroys our self-respect.

Placing a full stop in such relationships is not to hate someone.

It is to protect ourselves.

Sometimes walking away is the greatest courage.

Living without that courage is like an endless, meaningless sentence.

A full stop in dreams is the gateway to new beginnings.

Some dreams move us forward.

Some become burdens.

Clinging to dreams that do not align with our abilities, circumstances, or reality distances us from truth.

Only by letting go of certain dreams can new ones be born.

If an old door is not closed, a new door cannot open.

Likewise, placing a full stop on certain dreams is an essential step in growth.

A full stop to sorrows is the path to inner peace.

A human cannot forget sorrow.

But one must not live trapped in it.

Reliving past wounds again and again destroys the present.

Placing a full stop on sorrow does not mean forgetting it.

It means accepting it and moving forward.

Peace of mind is not the absence of sorrow.

It is the ability to move beyond it.

A full Stop is not an end it is a new beginning.

Many think a full stop means an ending.

In truth, it is the doorway to a new beginning.

When one sentence ends, another begins.

Likewise, when one chapter of life ends, another begins.

A full stop is not to halt us.

It is to move us forward.

The meaning of life lies in knowing when to stop.

If we learn to continue where needed and stop where necessary, life becomes beautiful and meaningful.

Placing a full stop at the right moment brings clarity to our mind and direction to our life.

When we learn to place full stops in words, relationships, dreams, and sorrows, life becomes a beautiful and meaningful journey.

The Greatest Quest of Human Life

The Greatest Quest of Human Life

The greatest quest of human life is happiness.

Money, position, fame, relationships
Behind all these pursuits lies one deep desire
“I want to be happy.”

Yet, tragically, many believe happiness exists somewhere far away,
and they keep wandering in search of it.

At the same time, some accept what they already have as happiness
and live peacefully.

This difference in mindset alone determines the quality of life.

Happiness Is an Inner Experience

Many search for happiness outside themselves.

“If I get this, I’ll be happy…”
“If that situation comes, only then will I rejoice…”
“If I gain a little more, life will be complete…”

These thoughts push a person into an endless race.

Happiness is not a destination; it is a state.

It cannot be found outside; it must arise within.

A tree cannot grow by attaching leaves from outside.

Likewise, external possessions are not enough  for happiness to grow inside a human being.

In today’s world, comparison has become a disease.

What did the other person buy?

Where did they go?

What did they achieve?

These thoughts keep disturbing our minds.

A mind that compares will never be satisfied.

Where there is no satisfaction, how can happiness exist?

A small child plays with a stone
and delights as if it were the greatest treasure in the world.

But as the child grows, it seeks not stones,  but cars, houses, positions, fame.

And somewhere along the way, joy disappears.

Why?

Because comparison has grown.
But gratitude has not.

Gratitude The Magic That Beautifies Simple Life

Some accept what they have as happiness  and remain peaceful.

Do they have no shortcomings in life?
They do.

But their focus is not on what is lacking.
It is on what has been given.

Gratitude is the greatest power that transforms life.

It softens the mind.

It opens the eyes.

It makes us realize “We are already complete.”

A grateful person finds satisfaction in a small meal,  joy in a small relationship,
and pride in a small achievement.

His life is simple, yet profound.

Happiness Is a Habit, a Decision

Happiness does not come by itself.
It is a habit.

It is a decision.

Every day, what we choose to see
determines our state of mind.

We can look at what is lacking
Or at what we have

We can look at problems
Or at opportunities

We can look at suffering
Or at experience

This choice is ours.

Some see life as a burden.
Some see the same life as a gift.

Life is the same; only the perspective differs.

Peace is the true form of happiness

Happiness is not mere laughter; it is peace.

Peace is when the mind is calm.

Calmness is acceptance.

Accept whatever comes,
release whatever goes,
be grateful for whatever is given.

This is the foundation of peace.

Where peace exists, happiness blooms naturally.

Truths are  that Simplify Life itself.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Without gratitude, there is no happiness.

Comparison destroys us.

Simplicity saves us.

Peace elevates us.

When the heart is calm, the whole world appears beautiful.

These are not ordinary words; they are the philosophy of life.

Happiness is not found somewhere far away.

It is a light that arises within us.

That light is created by our perspective,
our gratitude,  our accepting mind.

Some wander in search of happiness.

Some accept what they have and live peacefully.

Which kind of person we become—that is in our hands.

With love,
Sakthi Sakthithasan

Appearance and Reality: Life’s Masks and Truths

Appearance and Reality: Life’s Masks and Truths

"All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players."

To this famous sentiment by Shakespeare, Niccolò Machiavelli adds a sharp political and existential perspective. His statement.

“Everyone sees what you appear to be, but few experience what you really are” unmasks the deep-seated contradiction between human relationships, society, and individual personality.

The struggle between an outward image and the internal reality defines a major portion of human existence.

A person living in society is compelled to construct an 'image,' whether they wish to or not.

The human mind is perpetually drawn to visuals.

It is human nature to form a judgment about someone the moment we see them the 'First Impression.'

In the modern world, especially under the dominance of social media, this 'appearance' has turned into a marketable commodity.

We strive to show others that we are happy and successful.

In Machiavelli’s view, for a leader or an individual to succeed, it is often more important to appear virtuous than to actually be so.

This is because the world, rather than seeking deep truths, tends to first validate superficial beauty and outward morality.

The Gap Between Image and Reality is immense.

The gap between image and reality can be astounding.

Why aren't we all authentic?

Fear and the craving for social validation are the primary reasons.

The dread that the world might reject us if it saw our weaknesses, fears, and darker sides pushes us to wear a mask.

In the workplace an employee might maintain a constant appearance of being energetic before a supervisor, while internally grappling with severe stress.

In relationships many couples present themselves as 'the perfect pair' to the outside world, yet the bitter truths within their four walls remain hidden from everyone.

As Machiavelli suggests, what "everyone sees" is merely that polished, outward image.

It acts as a shield.

The Power of Intimacy: relies on the "Few Experience the Truth"

The most significant part of this quote is that only a select few can perceive the truth.
Who are these 'few'?

They may be our closest friends, our partners, or our parents.

Masks are dropped only where there is genuine love and intimacy.

Those to whom a person reveals their failures and helplessness are the ones who truly 'experience' him.

Seeing happens with the eyes.

experiencing happens with the soul.

A person’s true character is revealed only during difficult times or when they hold power.

Only a few have the courage to face this authentic self.

This philosophy can be applied to our lives in two ways.

We must understand that the opinions others hold of us are mostly based on the 'appearance' we project.

Therefore, there is no need to be overly distressed by criticism or inflated by praise.

They are not seeing 'you'.they are seeing the 'image' you display.

The question arises are we living for the world or for ourselves?

We should spend at least half the time we use to maintain our appearance on improving our true inner self.

Machiavelli’s statement is a bitter truth.

The world always looks at the fruit.

it does not see the struggle of the roots.

Yet, there is no fruit without roots.

While we may maintain a good image for society, we must cherish and protect those 'few' relationships that understand our deepest truths.

Ultimately, who we truly are determines our peace of mind more than how the world perceives us.

Appearances may win applause, but only true character earns a person lasting value.

Sincerely,
Sakthi Sakthithasan

Hope.The Heartbeat of the Soul

Hope.The Heartbeat of the Soul

“Hope is the heartbeat of the soul.”
This single line expresses the fundamental rhythm of human life in the simplest yet deepest way.

When the heartbeat stops, the body dies.
Likewise, when hope fades, the soul loses its direction.

Hope is not merely an emotion.

It is the inner strength of a human being, the hidden force that pushes him forward, the ray of light that guides him through the darkness of life.

Hope The Inner Engine of Human Life

Life is not a straight path.

It is a journey filled with ups and downs.

At times, situations arise that we cannot even understand ourselves.

In those moments, it is hope that holds us up, and it is then that true human strength is revealed.

Hope is not a power that comes from outside.

It is a pulse that rises from within.

Like the heartbeat, it keeps us alive.

A life without hope is like a ship without direction, drifting wherever the waves push it.

But a life with hope is a journey with direction.

Even if storms come, the ship will not sink.

Hope is the inner lamp that shows light in the darkness.

Hope is the light within.

No matter how intelligent or talented a person may be, life will test him completely at certain moments.

At those times, knowledge and skill are not enough.

Only the light within can save him.
That light is hope.

Just as a tiny spark in the dark can bring immense change, a small drop of hope can lift a person up again.

Hope is not a fantasy about the future.

It is a power that transforms the present.

It is not just “Tomorrow will be better,” but also “What I do today will change tomorrow.”

Hope is not passive waiting.

It is an active state of mind.

Hope is the strength to rise again

Failure is inevitable in life.

But to sit in despair, blaming oneself, is not human nature.

Human nature is to rise again.

The fundamental power behind that rise is hope.

Even when a seed is buried in the soil, it does not perish in the darkness.

It strives to break through the earth and reach the light.

Why?

Because within it lies hope: “I will reach the sunlight.”

Man is that same seed.

No matter how hard the circumstances, if hope lives within, he will bloom again.

Hope is the soul's  Relationship.

Hope is not just a personal feeling.

It is the foundation of relationships.

Only when people trust each other do relationships grow.

A relationship without trust is like a tree without roots.

It will topple at any time.

But a relationship with trust is like a banyan tree that stands firm even in storms.

Man cannot live alone.

He lives by trusting others.

That trust builds society.

A society without hope is like a crumbling building, ready to collapse at any moment.

But a society filled with hope is like a united family.

Hope is the center of spirituality

Spirituality is not temples, rituals, or chants alone.

It is inner peace.

At the center of that peace lies hope.

The feeling, “A power greater than me protects me,” frees man from fear.
Where hope exists, fear cannot dwell.

Hope is the soul of prayer.

Prayer is not words it is the expression of hope.

A prayer without hope is like a body without life.

Hope is the seed of transformation.

Every change begins with hope.

Those who changed the world first changed themselves.

Those who changed themselves first trusted their own inner strength.

Hope is the seed of transformation.
When it sprouts, life blossoms.

A hopeful person always moves forward.

He does not see failure as an end, but as a lesson.

He does not see obstacles as walls, but as steps.

Hope is the eternal pulse of the soul.

“Hope is the heartbeat of the soul.”

This line captures the entire philosophy of human life in a single drop.

With hope, man can conquer any darkness.

With hope, he can withstand any storm.

With hope, any dream becomes possible.

Hope is the eternal pulse of life.

If it stops, life stops.

If it beats, life blossoms.

With love,
Sakthi Sakthithasan
