Happiness , The Light That Blossoms From Within
Happiness is an eternal longing that humans spend their entire lives searching for.
When it is found, the world appears golden.
When it slips away, life feels utterly empty.
But hidden within this search is a great paradox.
We carry within us the very thing we seek, yet wander outside looking for it.
Just as it would be absurd to hold a lamp in one's hand and search for one's shadow in the darkness, searching for happiness outside oneself is life's greatest absurdity.
When we say happiness is human nature, it is not mere philosophy it is a profound truth.
A newborn child smiles for no reason at all. It has no wealth, no fame, no status yet it is happy.
That happiness comes from its very nature.
Not from the outside world.
As we grow, society plants a false seed in our minds "If you get this, you will be happy. If that happens, you will rejoice."
Slowly, we forget our true nature and become slaves to conditions.
Someone might ask, what is wrong with seeking happiness outside?
Is there no happiness in accumulating wealth? In gaining a position? Indeed, there is happiness in those moments.
But it is not lasting.
It flashes like lightning and vanishes in an instant.
Because the outer world is always changing.
What exists today may be gone tomorrow.
Status may crumble, relationships may break, accumulated wealth may scatter.
The fortress of happiness built on the outside collapses along with the changes of the outside world.
Therefore, any happiness constructed by depending on the external is like a building without a foundation.
In contrast, the happiness found within is of a different nature.
It is not a flower that blooms only in spring.
It lives on through summer heat and winter rain alike.
Because it does not depend on external circumstances.
Inner happiness is a quiet strength.
It is the state that does not waver in failure, the mind that does not break in loss, the clarity that embraces life even through pain.
An analogy helps describe this on the ocean's surface, waves may rage but in the deepest depths, a great stillness prevails.
External circumstances are the waves inner happiness is the peace that lies in those depths.
The question naturally arises what does it mean to search within, and how?
This is not renunciation, nor a rejection of life.
Searching within means first knowing oneself honestly asking, "Who am I? Where does my happiness come from? What truly fulfills me?"
This search is not an effort it is an awakening.
Not a striving to become someone else, but a return to being what we already are.
In today's world, recognizing this truth has become even more essential.
Social media constantly invites us to compare ourselves with the outside world.
Others' lives, others' successes, others' smiles these have become the measuring sticks of our own happiness.
This comparative mindset separates us from ourselves.
We try to live other people's lives and forget to live our own.
In this situation, the warning that "searching outside is the mistake" becomes deeply timely.
Another profound dimension of this reflection is that there is nothing wrong with wanting happiness.
For centuries, certain religions and philosophies portrayed the desire for happiness as sinful or weak.
They glorified finding pride in suffering.
But true wisdom says otherwise happiness is the natural state of life.
Wanting it is healthy. It is not something to be suppressed, but something to be allowed to bloom.
The mistake lies not in wanting happiness, but in searching for it in the wrong place.
The message this philosophy of life offers us is clear.
What the outside world provides is welcome, but not something to be relied upon.
What lies within is what is lasting.
The sky may be covered by clouds, but when the clouds pass, the sky remains unchanged, undiminished.
Our inner happiness is just the same.
Circumstances may obscure it, but they cannot destroy it.
To find it, there is no need to go anywhere else one simply needs to pause, and turn inward.
That turning is the most important journey of human life.
With love,
