Many times, we act without thinking deeply.

For example, when someone shares news about another person, we often pass it on to others as if it were true—based not on facts, but on our own opinions or feelings about that person.

I admit, with regret, that I too have made such mistakes in the past.

But through life experiences and the company of good-hearted people, my thoughts and actions have slowly begun to change.

So I’ve set a few principles for myself:

I will only share what I personally know to be true.
And even then, only if sharing it brings some good.

Recently, I learned an important lesson.
In a gathering, some people spoke in a way that could damage someone’s good name.
In that moment, I realized that a gentle silence, with a smile, was the most appropriate response.

Some may ask, “Why not correct them or give advice?”

But when someone is firmly convinced they are right, arguing with them only leads to conflict.
And that can make things uncomfortable for the person hosting the event.

As I’ve entered a more spiritual path and explored deeper truths, I’ve come to understand:

Each person acts based on what they believe is right, within the limits of their own understanding.
Who gave me the authority to call that wrong?

Simply observing events as they unfold is the honest way to live.

We should only share our opinions when someone asks for them.

Every word we speak is like a seed.
It grows and becomes a shadow in someone else’s mind.

If we want that shadow to be gentle and good,
then the words we plant must be filled with love and truth.

Dear young generation,

It is through you that many harmful attitudes can be changed.
We must measure our words before we speak.

Before saying anything, we should pause and ask ourselves:
“What am I about to say?”

If you do this, the future society you help build will shine with unmatched integrity.

You are capable of this.

Until we meet again,
With love,
Sakthi Sakthidasan
