Is Life a Burden or Just a Game of Thought?

Is Life a Burden or Just a Game of Thought?

It’s only natural that this question arises within us from time to time.

Is life truly heavy, or is it simply the play of our thoughts?

Take a dry stick. It may seem weightless, insignificant.

But once soaked in water, it gains weight.

This is a simple law of nature.

Yet behind it lies a profound truth about life.

In the same way, a small thought in our mind a minor worry,

a careless word, an unfulfilled expectation
if we keep thinking about it constantly,
it begins to feel like a major problem.

Tiny thoughts can grow into heavy burdens.

We encounter many such moments in a day:
Missing the bus
A friend not replying
A manager frowning at work

These are, in reality, small events.

But when we dwell on them, they soak into our minds,  and their weight increases.

Just like that dry stick,
our mind absorbs these small matters
and turns them into heavy loads.

Through the cycle of thought,  we weave a web that traps us.

A small mistake, when replayed in the mind,
makes us feel guilty.

A minor betrayal, when revisited,
turns into anger.

A tiny loss, when mourned repeatedly,
becomes deep sorrow.

None of these reactions stem from the event itself.

They arise from how long and how deeply we think about it.

We may not be able to change the water,
but we can choose not to let the stick soak.

In life, challenges will come like water.
They will try to soak us.
But we can lift the stick we can choose not to let small matters weigh us down.

We can keep them from soaking into our minds.

How?

Meditation: to cleanse the mind
Conversation: sharing with someone we trust
Writing: expressing what’s within
Music and art: transforming emotion into beauty

When life feels heavy,  look at the source of that weight.

It’s just a dry stick.

You can lift it.

It’s in your hands.

Between thinking and being trapped by thought,  there is a small space.

If we can recognize that space,  life becomes lighter.

Let this simple truth guide us always:
“Even a simple matter, when constantly thought about,  can seem like a major problem.”

I’ll return again.
With love,
