Life as a Painting: Progress Through Transformation
One tamil poet laureate Kannadasan once said, “The heart has a thousand doors, and within it, a thousand thoughts arise.”
Truly, it is a mystery how thoughts enter the heart through unknown paths.
This is not unique to a few it is a universal experience for all human beings.
Living life to its fullest is an art, and that art of life can even be called an examination.
But the results of that examination are revealed only after our life has come to an end.
Life is like a painting.
Each day we add colors that reflect the shades of our mind.
Some colors shine brightly, others remain subdued.
But the complete painting becomes the testimony of our life.
Just because we cannot know the outcome of how well we’ve handled the art of life while we are still living, does that mean we fail to live it skillfully?
No.
The way we live becomes a model of life’s artistry for the next generation.
The greatest gift we can give the next generation is the experience of our life.
That experience becomes a guiding light for them.
Our mistakes serve as warnings, and our successes become their inspiration.
The results of our life’s examination become stepping stones for the noble lives of future generations.
Life consists of many elements.
Connecting each one with the other is made possible by the shared values among us.
Among these, it is essential to identify our values beautifully, sharpen the necessary ones, and cultivate the mental discipline to control the negative ones.
Mental discipline is like a guardian.
It redirects our thoughts and protects us from straying down the wrong path.
Without it, the art of life can fall apart. That’s why nurturing it is so important.
Progress in life is built upon change.
To attain completeness, frequent changes in life are necessary.
Even when we must change to meet the inevitable twists and turns of life, the memories that ripple through our hearts never change.
The pain of living without adapting to time and necessity is greater than the pain of undergoing change.
Until that pain outweighs the other, progress remains stagnant.
Change is a new doorway.
When we open it, new experiences, opportunities, and challenges greet us.
If we hesitate to open it, our life remains stuck in place.
Change is the law of life.
If we let our minds dwell only in the past and present, we risk losing the future.
Boys and girls do not be shaken by change.
If life becomes difficult, strengthen the resolve of your heart.
Victory is certain on your path. You have a great duty in life.
You are the stars who will shine in tomorrow’s world.
Identify the values that support your growth and creativity, and protect them.
