At the dawn of 2026, new hopes, new dreams, and new journeys rise in our lives.
This is the moment to approach the future with confidence, taking the lessons of the past as our guide.
What is true wealth?
The fullness of thought itself is real wealth.
When one cultivates the mind of “enough,” every person becomes rich.
The moment we surrender to the dominance of the thought, “I do not have what others have,” we become poor.
No matter what we gain, the mind will not find peace.
For example, in the Ramayana, Kaikeyi tells Rama to go to the forest.
How does Kamban describe it?
She says: “Pūmi venkānam” — go to the dusty, desolate forest.
But Rama sees it differently: “Min oḷir kānam” — I go to the forest shining with radiant light.
Yes, wealth lies in the satisfaction of the mind.
The right way to compare
It is often said that we should compare ourselves with those below us to find peace.
But that is the wrong path.
Instead, “Compare yourself with those higher in virtue, and with those lower in material possessions.”
That is the best way.
As a song once said:
“He who studies the grammar of living well with what he has is a true worker.”
Entering the New Year
We step into a brand-new year.
All the events we crossed in the past year are but pages of experience!
Everything depends on how we transform those experiences to positively guide the direction of our life’s journey.
Faith in the younger generation
My younger generation is not lacking in strength.
I am confident they will surely live as true examples.
The Wealth of Knowledge
Material wealth may perish, but the wealth of knowledge never fades.
In this New Year, let us all strive to grow in knowledge.
It will elevate not only our lives but also society.
The Abundance of Love
Love, when shared, does not diminish; it multiplies.
In 2026, let us sow love as seeds and cultivate unity as the harvest.
The abundance of love is humanity’s true wealth.
The Excellence of Action
Thoughts may be lofty, but only through action do they bear fruit.
This year, let us move forward with determination to turn our dreams into deeds.
Small actions create great changes.
With love,
Sakthi Sakthithasan
